What do people really need in an RFID handheld?
Most of the industry needs exactly what's available - a no-brainer
interface that feeds tag data into the facility's data collection
system. But some of us need more, and could use much more.
Enter GlueLogix.
GlueLogix is developing RFIDiagnostix, software that turns any handheld
RFID terminal into a mobile tag health tester. With
RFIDiagnostix, you will be able to quantify that tags and
labels are good when they are delivered to you, and see how they stand
up to printing and application. You can also test tags at
different positions on your cases & pallets to identify "dead
spots" where you should not apply tags.
These screen shots are for an early version of RFIDiagnostix, that
performs a power-modulation sweep using the SAMSys MP9311:
